BI Architect

What you'll do

We are looking for a BI Architect to design, develop, enhance and maintain our financial application products and their performance. You will work as part of a multi-disciplined Agile team supporting and helping colleagues. You will also cooperate with the cross-product Architecture team supporting our portfolio approach to design and development.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Drive the development of all embedded BI initiatives across a portfolio of products, providing thought leadership throughout all phases of the delivery process
  • Engage with stakeholders and the wider business to understand strategic goals as well as product and market requirements
  • Analyse the business requirements to understand the needs at product and portfolio of products level to support the business in developing efficient data-centric software solutions
  • Design, develop, and support implementation of the reporting data model, ETL processes, and visualization aspects of the solutions for deployment in cloud and on-premise
  • Drive and inform technology choices with a particular focus on BI and analytics
  • Actively share the knowledge with, and mentor other team members
  • Work in an Agile development methodology as part of a multi-disciplined team and being a bridge between the teams and thus helping scale Agile software development

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes & experience:

  • BI domain expert with hands-on practical experience in the area of Business Intelligence and/or Data Analytics
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing technologies and tools (data models, ETL processes, reporting/analytic tools) with the focus on high-volume performance
  • Experience with star schema database design, dimensional modelling, semantic layer/domain design etc.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of data warehouse design, ETL development and challenges posed by data quality
  • Excellent SQL and database skills (preferably Oracle)
  • Data integration through APIs (e.g. REST with JSON)
  • Knowledge how to develop dashboards (preferably using JasperSoft) with complex data models and engaging user experiences
  • Excellent analytical and statistics skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Very good spoken and written English


Advantageous Skills

  • Knowledge of NoSQL as well as relational database design models
  • Programming skills (ideally in Java)
  • HTML, JavaScript and CSS coding abilities
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of Git, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Docker
