What you'll do

As Business Requirements Manager, you will provide deep financial knowledge and experience to the business and our clients. This knowledge allows Aptitude Software to develop, maintain and grow senior-level engagement with the finance functions of our target clients, and to translate the needs of the Finance function into business requirements to inform the Aptitude Software product and solution offerings.

The Business Requirements Manager provides financial insight and best practice to support the business requirements definition and evolution of the Aptitude Software product set. This is driven by a deep understanding of financial standards and the activity of finance functions in Aptitude Software’s target markets. The role requires deep subject matter expertise, and plays a key role in articulating how Aptitude Software’s capabilities can solve a client or prospect’s business problems.

It is a given that the Business Requirements Manager will proactively keep up-to-date with relevant knowledge and skills, including US GAAP regulatory and industry updates as well as emerging market trends.  This role plays a critical part in the Product life-cycle, and hence a strong change management skill-set and experience is required. You will have accountability for maintaining the clear definition of business requirements, and will be responsible for executing project governance over these key deliverables. The role will require hand-on definition of business requirement deliverables, requiring attention to detail, analytical skills and data analysis skills.

We are happy to consider anyone based in the Boston area or US East Coast; you will be primarily home-based and required to undertake travel to the Boston office and, more occasionally, to the UK and Europe.

What we're looking for

You will have the following essential skills & experience:

  • Ability to translate Finance terminology into business requirements for product development
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards, with experience of US GAAP regulations
  • Change / Project Management experience
  • Management consulting Experience or Finance Change Management Experience
  • Structured and analytical mindset
  • Understanding of design of Finance applications and products
  • Understanding of a Finance function and key use cases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with senior Finance executives as well as within the Product development process

In addition, our ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant or Accounting Experience
  • Knowledge of Finance Ledgers / Accounting Rules
  • Knowledge of Revenue Recognition, Lease Accounting and Insurance accounting regulations
