What you'll do

As a CFO Business Architect, you will have significant experience in delivering technology enabled Finance Transformations and possess expert CFO domain knowledge. You will be accountable for the functional aspects of the product development cycle, providing a deep knowledge of accounting, finances, as well as how financial systems solve for CFO business and transformation problems. With this knowledge, you are expected to enable various contributors, as well as inheritors from the product requirement and functional process.

In addition to working with internal resources, you will collaborate with prospects, clients and partners and demonstrate strong knowledge over their use cases and the solutions we are building, giving them confidence in our ability to deliver upon their requirements.

The role will involve managing a team of subject matter experts in the creation of product requirement and functional deliverables. The experts may comprise a combination of product employees, contractors as well as temporarily allocated resources. You will facilitate an efficient onboarding process for the short, medium, and long-term resourcing to ensure all are enabled to deliver a quality output.

To facilitate completion of the product requirement and functional deliverables, a CFO Business Architect is responsible for developing and managing a plan to align to the product development plans and overarching milestones. The plan should reflect all known risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies. You will liaise with the Product Owner(s) to ensure all content is created and prioritised in a fully informed manner and you will oversee a successful handover of the requirement and functional deliverables to the development teams.

The CFO Business Architect needs to establish and manage to a framework that meets the needs of the development organization as well as the wider business, including but not limited to competitor research, gathering and socialisation steps internally and externally, a formal review process by all appropriate parties, and documentation templates and principles to support. You will establish best practices to be followed by the product requirement and functional process to ensure the solution is fit for purpose and you will actively engage with experts across all regions and functions to obtain and share knowledge, best practices and lessons learned.

The CFO Business Architect will keep necessary resources informed of progress of the overall product requirement and functional process escalating items as appropriate. As it relates to clients, the role requires that your decision-making process considers risk and the commercial relationships between Aptitude and its clients, consistently striving to deliver value to all parties.


What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience and understanding of designing the CFO operating model and the key challenges and issues that require transformation;
  • Highly experienced in the effective business design of Financial Systems / General Ledgers / Sub Ledgers and other digital Finance and automation solutions;
  • The ability to concisely articulate accounting and finance concepts to non-accountants;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with and influence stakeholders across multiple teams;
  • Ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments;
  • Ability to coach and share knowledge and skills with colleagues and others where required.
