What you'll do and what we offer

Overview

This role is not limited to, but comprises of the following key responsibilities:

  • Focusing mainly on software automation and releases with additional focus on Platform creation, maintenance, and automation.
  • Working closely with the Software Development and Platform teams to contribute to the design, and development, of an efficient Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines to deliver our applications to cloud environments.
  • Working closely with Software and Operations teams and other key stakeholders to contribute to the design and development of Platforms.
  • Emphasis on the efficient, reliable, and high performing build automation of software, settings and databases to ensure the synchronization of software versions in multiple locations.
  • Applying exemplary engineering practices to increase agility, improve quality, and help reduce downtime in all our solutions

Key Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Creation of platforms and environment configurations for the different stages of the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Controlling cloud infrastructure, and delivering automation; providing scriptable means to create, tear down and recreate environments.
  • Developing, planning, and implementing pipelines to support CI/CD.
  • Providing environmental support to delivery teams to maximise efficiency.
  • Creating scripts to automate the creation, configuration and deployment of cloud environments.
  • Ability to work in an audited environment to maintain delivery best practices.

What we're looking for

Required Skills & Experience 

  • You have a proven track record of building reliable, scalable, and performant services and infrastructure in the cloud.
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with implementing CI/CD pipelines for software releases, and an understanding of the SDLC.
  • Experience with using source control, such as Git.
  • Proficient use of writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts and modules.
  • Familiarity of using Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Proficient use of Azure and/or familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with .NET applications, both .NET Framework and .NET Core.
  • Experience with logging and monitoring of applications. Including configuring monitors for use by application support teams.
  • Knowledge of System Design practices.
  • Must have an ability to communicate clearly and be a team player.
  • Can work autonomously and be able to review processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.

Optional Skills & Experience

  • Awareness of AWS and Cloud Formation.
  • Familiarity of CD flows, such as GitOps.
  • Knowledge of package managers, such as Chocolatey and Helm.
  • Infrastructure concepts, such as AD, DNS, and WAFs.
