What you'll do and what we offer
The Product Manager – Data Platforms plays a crucial role in the strategic evolution and day-to-day management of Aptitude’s flagship data platform and data integration services, working with several engineering teams and stakeholder groups to establish, prioritise and deliver world-class products via several product backlogs.
Your role is pivotal in delivering effortless, robust, high-performance, and scalable data integration capabilities for Aptitude’s flagship SaaS Platform, Fynapse. This will enable communication between Fynapse and a huge range of external systems that will inevitably have different capabilities and use different technologies.
You will manage Aptitude’s Data Cloud – a data lakehouse for reporting and analytics that empowers data teams to get the most out of the rich data generated by Aptitude’s applications through real time reporting, data visualisation, analytics. Beyond that, you will enable the future of data through AI and ML capabilities.
You will work with a Product Director to help shape product strategy for data and align delivery plans with market needs.
You will work with Business Analysts and independently to identify market and user needs and specify requirements, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to test hypotheses and design best-in-class solutions.
You will work with engineering teams to break work down into shippable features, co-ordinate cross-team delivery, and ensure on-time and in-budget delivery.
The role will require regional and international travel.
Team and line reporting:
The Product Manager – Data Platforms reports into the Product Director – Data and Enablement
within the Product and Technology organisation.
You will be responsible for 1-2 Business Analysts as direct reports, with performance management and career development responsibilities guided by HR frameworks.

What we're looking for
We’re looking for someone who knows what market-leading, cloud-native data integration, analytics, and reporting looks like as such you will have deep experience with the following:
APIs and/or data lakehouses with modern data engineering practices
Modern SaaS platforms and articulating their value to different stakeholder groups
Microservice architectures
Product discovery and requirements definition
You will also:
Apply product, commercial, and market expertise to influence the direction of Aptitude’s product portfolio in line with business and product strategy.
Feel comfortable getting hands-on and into the detail with your products, to present complex concepts to stakeholders from user level to C-level.
Have a keen appreciation for the mechanics of estimation and forecasting for in-budget and on-time delivery, working with counterparts from Engineering.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be adept in stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
Have a strong attention to detail and a bias towards using planning and design process as a means of delivering the right product for the market.
You will have exceptional time management, working with several teams and product backlogs in parallel.
Have line management experience.
