What you'll do

The Project Manager role is responsible for leading and directing teams to successfully deliver in complex finance transformation environments.

As the leader of project teams you will manage resources, schedules, financials and ensure quality assurance across all project activity. You will proactively manage project risks and issues, and ensure a strict project change control process is followed to ensure successful on time, on budget delivery.

The Project Manager must drive the project forward on a day to day basis by being self-directed and consistently verifying that project deliverables align to the agreed scope and project success criteria.

The role requires a calm and assertive character capable of influencing senior individuals across both clients and partners with the ability to effectively communicate to and motivate the wider team.

The key target markets will be the banking and insurance sectors, with particular emphasis on IFRS 17 and the broader finance transformation requirements associated with meeting this compelling compliance event.

The key responsibilities are:

Project Management

  • Plan all aspects of delivery including budget, quality, risk (commercial & delivery), customer satisfaction and solution assurance.
  • Manage and provide guidance to other members of the project team to ensure delivery against plan.
  • Drive the implementation of best practice project processes (including agile where appropriate), delivery standards and commercial engagement terms.
  • Escalation management of project out of line situations including stakeholder communication and management.
  • Establish and maintain a “trusted advisor” relationship with the client and partner stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with stake holders at all levels, C level, finance, IT and project.
  • Work closely with the sales teams and delivery management to represent Delivery on sales opportunities. 

    Strategic Initiatives

  • Support assigned projects with the purpose of improving the operations of the Professional Services organisation or the firm in general.
  • Participate in designated cross functional leadership teams to ensure alignment of the Sales, Product, and Delivery functions of the firm.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials for management forums, and papers in support of senior management requests.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have the following skills & experience:

  • Proven track record of playing key customer facing roles on multiple projects within the finance function within Financial Services.
  • Strong ownership skills with a results driven attitude.
  • Commanding, detailed and confident.
  • Preferably a technical background coupled with business consulting skills.
  • Experience with managing third parties, i.e. contractors, partners.
  • Some experience in issue management and resolution, governance and controls
  • Background in finance based applications, i.e. General Ledgers, ERPs, Data Warehouses and BI platforms.
  • Experience in projects requiring a high level of systems integration.
  • Use of multiple project management/development methodologies e.g. Waterfall, RUP, Agile, Scrum.
  • Experienced with project delivery via distributed teams including near and offshore resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business related or similar and preferably a project management qualification, e.g. Prince2, PMP.

Where you'll be

This role is based in Boston but regular travel will be required
