The Role

The Principal Solution Consultant partners with sales team members on new and existing client engagements by managing the functional and technical aspects of the sales process.  A Principal Solution Consultant is responsible for aligning Aptitude Software product capabilities with customer requirements and evangelizing the benefits of the Aptitude product suite. They develop credibility and trust with client’s senior representatives by demonstrating financial and business experience and providing solutions that exceed stakeholder expectations. Organizationally they identify opportunities for growth or improvement and work with the wider team to enact change.


What you'll do

  • Serve as trusted advisor and product evangelist, articulating the value and benefits of Aptitude Software’s suite of products.
  • Perform operational accounting related Business Analysis as it pertains to the mapping of Aptitude Software products and solution to client requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and grow senior-level engagement with the finance & and Finance IT functions of target customers.
  • Lead workshops to drive definition of scope and alignment of Aptitude Software capabilities, provide best practice advice.
  • Design and propose solutions based upon Aptitude Software’s products and capabilities.
  • Lead & Own RFP/RFI processes.
  • Work with customers and Aptitude Software team members to define the scope and design of Proof of Concepts and lead its delivery.
  • Manage personal and team tasks and deliverables to complete projects on schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with the customer, project leads and within the Sales team.
  • Help close project sales and ensure that the delivery team provide the intended solution.
  • Skillfully balance risk and innovation in trialing new ideas or translating insights which will add value to the organization or customer.
  • Foster a continuous learning approach, showing interest and curiosity in new ideas and opportunities.

What we're looking for

  • A qualified Accountant.
  • Experience with operational accounting processes and procedures within large and complex organizations, ideally Insurance.
  • Technical software systems experience. 
  • Excellence in being able to identify and translate client requirements. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) 
  • Experience with operational accounting processes and procedures within large and complex organizations, ideally Insurance. 
  • Leadership experience of working in a Finance line role supporting periodic reporting deadlines. Experience should encompass:
    • Production of accurate and timely management and financial information with Balance Sheet substantiation and Income Statement reporting.
    • Responsibility for closing the books accurately and within deadlines. 
  • Maintenance of strong Balance Sheet and Income Statement controls including reconciliations to General Ledger and other Operational Systems. 
  • Demonstrable experience in enterprise wide projects; able to engage with senior level executives such as CFOs, Global Treasurers, and Finance Directors 
  • Has presence and credibility and is able to gain the buy-in of a diverse community of business stakeholders, technology teams, peers, project managers, and external partners. 
  • Experience in working with data driven projects (i.e. Data warehouses, data-marts, accounting engines, sub-ledgers, general ledgers). 
  • Highly intelligent, creative and innovative, but with the discipline and hands on approach and personal drive to achieve practical results. 
  • Exceptional presentation and demonstration skills.
